Sailing
My googling on this gorgeous sunset decoupage piece bought slight evidence of one more of this print existing, so I don't believe this was a custom or homemade job as is sometimes popular with decoupage, but it certainly doesn't seem mass produced either.
I can't source the artist of the original photograph but clearly we can see a sailing boat, double mast at what has to be the most red sky at night (sailors delight) sunset I've yet to see. Alternatively, we could flip this and look at glass half-empty style as a red sky in morning (sailors take warning) whereas this ship is just setting off to a rough and tumultuous day at sea.
Regardless of how you approach this piece, for me it evokes less personal memories of nautical passions but a second-hand nostalgia for somewhere I've yet to be. It leaves me daydreaming about sleeping on a boat, unbothered, unreachable other than a CB radio and by carrier pigeon.
Some slight surface scratching on the front is represented in the photographs but other than that, I believe, like myself, this piece is roughly around four decades old and in pretty good shape if you ask me.
