No disrespect to actual "fever dreams", because I feel like maybe after a global pandemic we're all a bit more familiar with the feeling, but this piece always reminded me a bit of one.

The colouring is hyper pastel. It gives a 'Easter' vibe without explicitly including a rabbit or a chocolate egg in the mix. It gives a feeling of 'mint tea', of sidewalk chalk. It reminds me of those marshmallow things that are braided and come multicoloured. I don't eat marshmallows, but I remember if you left those things out they would harden like a rock and then they had a weight to them. They became a weapon. I've left this piece out overnight. Over many nights actually and I will confirm, it does not harden. In the sun or the shade. But that's ok, you wouldn't want it to.

Mint Cottage screams softness. A garden arch overgrown with fern and foliage sit next to a path. The path leads to the cottage, a small river or creek in front. I imagine the creek to be made of the same blue syrup you would use for a blue snow-cone. This of course would have been destructive to surrounding environment and ecosystem but while we're living in fantasy land we might as well make some bold assumptions about the scenery.

The sky sits behind, seemingly constructed of cotton candy. I picture what this would be like and I think about breathing in nothing but air-puffed sugar. It tastes great in my head although my non-professional medical opinion is that if all our atmosphere were to change to cotton candy we would all die pretty quickly. We might not even make it long enough to read about it in the news the next day. People everywhere would start choking and gasping for "real" air. It sounds like a terrifying way to die, something that would spring to mind during a previously mentioned fever dream.
